Professional Laser Vein Treatment

16 million Americans suffer from rosacea—most commonly among women during menopause. Vascular lesions, caused by enlarged or broken blood vessels, can take many forms all over the body — from rosacea and port wine stains to spider veins and birthmarks.

Vascular lesions usually do not go away on their own, which is why many patients seek treatment. ClearV was specifically designed to eliminate these unwanted vessels.

Consultation for a ClearV Laser Vein Treatment

Before beginning the treatment, your provider will discuss the area to be treated with you as well as what to expect and do post treatment.

In order to properly document the progress of your treatment, your provider will also take pictures before the treatment. He or she will let you know when to come back for the after picture.

Before the treatment, you will be asked to remove your make-up or moisturiser and, if needed, you will be asked to shave the area to be treated. You will not need anaesthetic cream or ice prior to treatment.

What to Expect with ClearV

Your eyes will be protected with safety shields or glasses. Your procedure may take a few minutes to half an hour depending on the size of the area being treated.

Laser energy will be delivered precisely to the area of your skin being treated. You may feel a brief warm or hot sensation as the laser pulses are absorbed by the unwanted vessels.

Recovery & Post-Care

Patient responses can vary. Redness and swelling around the treated vessels are usually noted within a few minutes and typically have a “cat scratch” appearance.

A sun burn sensation and a slight feeling of soreness are also normal and expected. These reactions tend to subside within 24-48 hours after the treatment.

After 48 hours, the skin over the treated veins will look slightly red, purple, or bruised. Sometimes the veins will be more visible than they were prior to treatment. This is normal. Within the first 2 to 3 weeks, the redness and purple colour will begin to fade. Each week, the colour will become lighter and the veins will become less noticeable.

To decrease any achiness or discomfort after treatment, a support hose or an ace bandage may be helpful, in addition to helping reduce the amount of bruising.
